Otaviano Costa He recently experienced one of the most demanding chapters of his trajectory. Always energetic and fun, the presenter found himself faced with a serious situation when he unexpectedly discovered an aortic aneurysm that required emergency heart surgery. Now, in the middle of the second half, he has decided to share his story as a warning, but also gratitude for the new possibility he has received.




It all started thinly during a holiday trip abroad. Octavian says he has heard a discreet pain in the back, something that at the beginning did not concern him. However, by precaution, he decided to investigate better by returning to Brazil. He did routine exams and the result of the ecocardiogram was surprising: he had a aneurysm in the ascending aorta, a serious picture that could break at any time.

“It was a shock. I didn’t hear anything serious, but suddenly I found myself faced with a real life of life. It is that type of news that changes everything in a few seconds”, He reported in an interview with Who. The diagnosis was accompanied by urgency: it was necessary to operate quickly.

Octavian has chosen to keep the news confidential, including his wife, also hosts Flávia Alessandra, for a few days. According to him, it was a way to assimilate the situation and save the family of worries until everything was lighter. “I wanted to protect him, to understand what was going on. It was difficult to elaborate everything for me too,” Admitted.

The intervention was successfully performed at the Copa Star Hospital in Rio de Janeiro and Otaviano was hospitalized for about a week. The recovery, although demanding, was quiet and full of reflections. “I had to surrender, trust and surrender to the care of the medical team and what I believe spiritually. It was a deep dive in myself”He revealed.

During the days in the hospital, he recalls intense moments of introspection. “I looked at the ceiling, I felt the pain of surgery, the difficulty of moving and I thought: I’m alive. This is a gift. The scar on the chest, for him, is not only a physical brand, but a kind of trophy: the symbol of overcoming and of the life that follows with a new meaning.

Recovery

Today, months after fear, Octavian says he feels reborn. He gradually resumed routine, exercise and professional projects. But everyone with a new perspective. “I have always been intense, but now I live with more purpose. I want to enjoy every day as if it were the last, without exaggeration. I am more connected to my health, my family and my faith”, Shared.

On his social networks, he used his experience to encourage other people to perform preventive tests, in particular those around the heart. The experience, he said, was turning in every way. “I think everything happens for a reason. This fear has taught me to slow down, to observe more, to thank you more. Life is fragile and forget it until something forces us to remember.”he said.
