Fernanda Vasconcellos explains why she spent 10 years away from soap operas

In the cast of the next nine o’clock soap opera, Fernanda Vasconcellos reveals the reason for her long absence from television.

Fernanda Vasconcellos returns to prime time on Globo after almost a decade away from soap operas. The actress will join the cast of Três Graças, a new 9pm show written by Aguinaldo Silva, which premieres on October 20th. This will be his first regular role since Haja Coração (2016), marking a long-awaited return to television.

In an interview with Marie Claire, Fernanda defined the moment as a personal and professional restart. “Everything feels new because I just became a mom. My son is three, so everything looks different, everything is new,” she said. Mother of Romeo, the result of her relationship with the actor Cássio Reis, the artist said that she had distanced herself from audiovisual work since her pregnancy to dedicate herself completely to motherhood. “I missed work a lot, but I would suffer more if I was away from my son,” he explained.

Now, the actress returns in style playing Samira, a seemingly secretive chef, but involved in corruption schemes led by Arminda (Grazi Massafera) and Santiago (Murilo Benício). “He is a very ambivalent character, he won me over”, revealed Fernanda, highlighting Aguinaldo Silva’s text and Luiz Henrique Rios’ direction as decisive factors in accepting the new challenge.
