Leandro Lima talks about professional recording and breaks silence on DRT controversy

Leandro Limaknown for giving life to the character Herculano in the telenovela Three Thanksof TV Globo, went public to clarify a controversy regarding his name and his professional career as an actor. The discussion was strengthened after the news was spread that he would have worked on the new production of the broadcaster without having the Professional Registration Document (DRT), necessary to practice the artistic profession.

In response to the accusations, Leandro was keen to clarify the situation and reiterate that he has been regularly registered as an actor for over a decade. “My DRT was issued in 2008 by the Ministry of Labor, in Paraíba. At the time they made a provisional one until they could demonstrate activity in the area, and the definitive one was issued by São Paulo. Some bad character must need an internship”said the actor in an interview with the LeoDias portal.

The backlash began after the columnist Fabia Oliveira publish that the actor would be registered only as a model and that the provisional DRT obtained in 2008 would not be converted into the definitive one, which would place his performance in the soap opera in a possible irregular situation. The news provoked a reaction from SATED/RJ (Union of Entertainment Artists and Technicians of the State of Rio de Janeiro), which spoke about it.

Ugo Grosspresident of the union, declared that the body is only fulfilling its role of monitoring and defending the rights of the artistic category. “We as a union always try to do the right thing, defending the category and those who have the registration. I have nothing against Leandro, but he presented a model registration and TV Globo knows it. Even so they want to get to the bottom of it. But we are here to defend the registration”Gross said.

Leandro, for his part, not only guaranteed that all the documentation is in order, but also underlined that the controversy appears to have been motivated by personal interests. “Some bad character must be missing on stage”, strengthened the artist, suggesting that questions about his legality as an actor were an attempt to tarnish his professional image.

Actor and model, Leandro Lima has a consolidated career in television and theatre. Before joining the cast of Three Thankshe participated in other Globo productions, such as Pantanal AND Beyond timeand is also known for his work in film and fashion. His training and experience of over 15 years in the artistic world would, according to him, be further proof of his professional qualification.

Globo did not comment

TV Globo, to date, has not officially commented on the controversy involving the name of Leandro Lima. Behind the scenes, however, the broadcaster was informed of the situation and chose to keep the actor in the cast of the telenovela, demonstrating confidence in the version he presented.

In this regard, Three Thanks continues to have a good response from the public, and the character of Herculano, played by Leandro, stood out in the plot. The actor, despite the controversy, seems focused on his work and willing to move forward: “My DRT was issued in 2008… and the final one was issued by Sao Paulo.”
