Rapper, music producer and businessman Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been in prison for over a year in New York, US, and has been threatened with a knife to his neck by another inmate, a friend of his has told the British newspaper Daily Mail.

Charlucci Finney, Diddy’s friend for more than 30 years, said the rapper woke up with a knife held to his neck by another inmate. Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, a prison known to be dangerous.

“He woke up with the knife in his neck. I don’t know if he got into a fight with the other inmate or if the guards came. I just know that it happened,” Finney said. To the American site TMZsources confirmed the incident.

Diddy’s friend believes what happened was a threat, not an actual attempt to kill the rapper.

“If this guy wanted to hurt him, Sean would have gotten hurt. It would have only taken him a second to slit his throat with the knife and kill him. It was probably to say, ‘Next time you won’t be so lucky.'”

Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison for aiding and abetting prostitution. He was found not guilty of charges of trafficking and sexual exploitation, which would have seen him in prison for the rest of his life.
