According to Alê, the episode occurred during his first pilates class. Passionate about exercise solely for health and wellness reasons, she has never considered herself an intense exerciser. On the contrary, he has always preferred light and calm activities. For this reason, she received numerous recommendations from friends to try Pilates. After insisting, he decided to give it a try.
“I have always liked lighter activities, which make me feel good, but without altering my physical shape. Pilates seemed perfect for this”, said the influencer, born in Rio Grande do Sul, through the statements sent by her advisor.
On the day of the experimental lesson everything happened spontaneously. In the middle of a core-strengthening exercise, he started experiencing intense sensations. “I felt a different pressure in my abdominal region, a mix of relaxation and pleasure. At first I thought it was just the effort, but the sensation grew until I realized it was something physical, intense and completely out of the ordinary.”
Despite the unusual feeling during training, Alê says he didn’t feel embarrassed at the time, as he still didn’t understand what had happened. “I didn’t understand then, because I had never experienced anything like that. But later, after doing some research, I realized that it was something natural and even more common than it seems,” he commented.
After that, she says she felt calmer and wanted to continue Pilates classes. For Alê it is important to stay healthy, but without looking for major aesthetic changes, which is possible with the modality. “I think it’s beautiful when exercise serves to balance body and mind, not to change who we are. People identify with reality. Showing my body as it is, without filters and without interventions, is part of what I believe in and what I want to convey. I think that’s what sets me apart,” he concluded.
Coreorgasm: does it really exist?
Coreorgasm is a phenomenon still little studied by the scientific community, but it has already been reported by several people who practice yoga, pilates, cycling and abdominal exercises. One of the first mentions of the topic in medical literature dates back to 1953, when researcher Alfred Kinsey addressed the issue in the book Sexual behavior in the human female (Sexual behavior in women). According to the study, one in ten women has experienced orgasm during physical activity at some point in their life.
The term “coreorgasm” gained strength and began to be taken seriously in medicine only in 2011, when it once again became the subject of study at Indiana University in the United States. At the time the phenomenon was classified as Exercise-Induced Orgasm (EIO) – loosely translated as “exercise-induced orgasm”.
Sex educator Debby Herbenick conducted the research with women who reported reaching peak pleasure during physical activity. The study found that, out of 370 women interviewed, 33% said they had already achieved orgasm during training. Herbenick delved into the topic and, in 2015, published the book The Coregasm workout: the revolutionary method for better sex through exercise (THE Coreorgasm Training: The Revolutionary Method for Better Sex Through Exercisein free translation).
According to industry experts, the phenomenon occurs when intense contractions of the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor occur, which can generate an involuntary release of pleasure similar to orgasm.
