The actor who lost everything and ended up on the streets criticizes the press and refuses to abandon the ‘children’

Alejandro Landero, from the soap opera ‘Rosa Selvagem’, a hit on SBT, did not appreciate the journalists’ approach

Actor Alejandro Landero left the square in the La Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City, where he began to live after running out of money even to eat.

“They lent me a house and I’m going to Puerto Vallarta soon,” he said, referring to a city nearly 900 km away where his family lives.

He will bring with him his inseparable ‘children’: four cats and a dog. The artist refused to go to a shelter because he did not want to be separated from the animals.

In recent interviews, Landero has shown irritation at the sensationalism of some journalists in covering his situation.

“Things were exaggerated,” he said. “Yes, it’s a precarious situation, for sure, but not a situation where I’m abandoned. My in-laws were with me the whole time, my brother’s children supported me.”

Although he emphasized the support of his relatives, Landero accepted donations from neighbors in the square and from anonymous people touched by television reports that showed him alone and sad.

From fame to the streets

As the October 21 article reported (see featured post), actor Alejandro Landero has started living in a Kombi and spending most of his time on a park bench.

He was evicted for not paying rent. I had no job and no prospect of a steady income. Alone and over 60 years old, his life became dramatic.

He didn’t remember at all the heartthrob who made soap operas sigh in the days of ‘Rosa Selvagem’ and other Televisa successes.

Landero said he intends to start a new life in Puerto Vallarta, dedicating himself to a social project.

“What I want is to make people aware of physical disabilities, visible and invisible, like being autistic and having ADHD.”

The actor claims to be neurodivergent himself.
