Rafael Cardoso reunites with his children after 2 years: ‘Long dream’

Actor Rafael Cardoso shared accounts on social media of reuniting face-to-face with his eldest children after more than two years of no contact.

In the images published this Sunday, the 26th, he appears next to children in a swimming pool, together with his girlfriend, Carol Ferraz.

“Returning to my children was like waking up from a dream that was too long. Time tried to erase it, but love… love has its own memory. In their eyes I saw the same sparkle as before, as if time had stopped waiting for our return”, he said in the caption of the publication.

He also says that the day was punctuated by happy moments, and that during the meeting they cooked and painted. “They didn’t demand presence, they simply gave me love,” he concluded.

Carol Ferraz commented on her boyfriend’s photo. “We prayed a lot for this day to come. In some we gave each other strength, in others we wanted to share joys. But, more than that, you were strength, rebirth, faith and courage. May you continue to be the best version of yourself, for yourself and for these 3 incredible beings that God has given you as a gift. I love you!”, he said.

Cardoso’s children are the result of his relationship with Mariana Bridi. The former couple’s divorce was complicated and surrounded by allegations of infidelity on the actor’s part. The two were married for 15 years and separated in December 2022. They are parents to Aurora, 10, and Valentim, 6. Months after the breakup, he publicly accepted a new wife, Carol Ferraz, who he is with today.

Rafael lost the chance to spend time with his children with Mari after he was accused of assaulting his ex-mother-in-law, Sônia Bridi, and beating an elderly man in a bar fight. Since then a protective measure has kept him away from his ex-mother-in-law, his ex-wife and his children.

In May this year Cardoso participated in Cátia Fonseca’s program on YouTube and spoke about his relationship with his ex-wife. At the time, the artist claimed that he had already complied with all of the judge’s requests to resume visits to his children. “I reached it a long time ago. And it’s not true, otherwise I would have already seen it [os dois filhos]. We’ve already done it all, but it just has a lot of influence. The process has been at a standstill for more than six months,” he said.

Accused of breaking into the house of his ex-mother-in-law, journalist Sônia Bridi, the actor also claimed that his ex-wife had already entered his house. “It all started with a lot of falsehoods. First let’s drop a bomb to go viral. Mariana invaded my house before I entered her mother-in-law’s house. I felt comfortable going in there because my house was invaded by her,” he said.

In June 2024 he spoke about life away from his children. “It’s difficult to have a break like that, in raising children. I haven’t seen them in person for a year. All this confuses my head. I’m not here to victimize myself, I’m not a victim and I don’t want to be one. It confuses my head,” Caras told TV. He had another daughter, Helena, with Carol Ferraz.

Assault at the restaurant

The relationship with Mariana was not the actor’s only controversy. The Rio de Janeiro court ordered him to pay compensation of R$25,000 to João Fernando Valente Brito, who was attacked by the artist in February 2023. The decision was made by the 1st Special Civil Court of Barra da Tijuca.

On the night of February 26, 2023, Cardoso was accused by João of having threatened to kill him, as well as attacking him with punches and kicks. The case occurred in a restaurant in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, where João is the manager. Rafael claimed to the court that he had been provoked by João Fernando before committing the attacks, however, the judge understood that the provocations did not justify the episode of violence.
