“The queen of scrap” returns to Globo; see soap opera actors who died

• Raúl Cortez-Jonas Queiroz Scott

The actor played the mysterious Jonas Queiroz Scott, cupbearer to the Albuquerque Figueroa family. In the plot it stood out for its elegance and the secrets it hid. Raul Cortez died in 2006, at age 73, of pancreatic cancer.

• Paulo Gracindo-Betinho

It gave life to Betinho Figueroa, father of Edu (Tony Ramos) and husband of the evil Laurinha (Glória Menezes). Together they represented the decadent elite. The actor died in 1995, at the age of 84, due to prostate cancer.

• Nicette Bruno – Neiva Pereira

The actress played Neiva, mother of Maria do Carmo (Regina Duarte). In the plot, she was a simple woman trying to get back on her feet after the death of her husband. Nicette died in 2020, at age 87, due to complications from Covid-19.

• Lolita Rodrigues – Lena

She played Lena, Laurinha’s (Glória Menezes) faithful cook. Although she was not rich, she defended her boss “tooth and nail,” but lived in conflict with her daughter Alaíde (Patrícia Pillar). The actress died in 2023, at the age of 94, the victim of pneumonia.

• Flavio Migliaccio – Oswaldo Moreiras

The actor played Oswaldo Moreiras, father of Nicinha (Marisa Orth), a poor widower who lived in comical situations. Flávio Migliaccio died in 2020, aged 85.

• Gianfrancesco Guarnieri – Irineu Saldanha

Guarnieri played Irineu Saldanha, a character who falls in love with Neiva (Nicette Bruno). The actor and playwright died in 2006, at age 71, from chronic kidney failure.

• Cleyde Yáconis – Isabelle de Bresson

The actress played Isabelle, a wealthy woman on the verge of bankruptcy who insisted on acting as if she were still prosperous. Cleyde Yáconis died in 2013, aged 89, after being hospitalized for ischemia.

• Maria Helena Dias – Samira Zaida

The actress was part of the comedy core of the soap opera, together with Samira Zaida. Maria Helena died in 2023, aged 91; the cause of death was not revealed.

Special appearances

• Ivan Candido – Franklin

In Scrap queenhe played Franklin, a character involved in Renato’s (Daniel Filho) business. The actor died in 2016; there is no information on the cause of death.

• Cláudio Corrêa e Castro – Rogério

He participated briefly as an expert Rogério. The actor died in 2005, at the age of 76.

• Carlos Kroeber – Giacomo Di Lampedusa

He made a special appearance as Count Giacomo Di Lampedusa. The actor died in 1999, at the age of 64.

• Serafino Gonzales – Gianlucca

He played the character of Gianlucca. The actor died in 2007, at the age of 73.

• Ruth de Souza – Elizabeth Andrade

She made a special appearance as Judge Elizabeth Andrade. Ruth de Souza died in 2019, aged 98.
