The star revealed that a compulsion to view sexually explicit content affected his marriage to his wife, actress Rebecca King-Crews.
Actor Terry Crews, who starred in hits like the movie The Whites and the series Brooklyn nine-nine And Everyone hates Chris, took part in a podcast in the United States and detailed the pornography addiction she was supposed to cure. The star revealed that a compulsion to see sexually explicit content affected her marriage to his wife, the actress. Rebecca King Crews, as Terry had to hide the addiction. The actor opened up on the matter in an interview with the Fight The New Drug project, a YouTube channel that aims to discuss the dangers of addiction to pornography.
“It wasn’t easy at first, because I kept thinking, ‘What else can I do?’ I literally had to write stuff I could practice on instead of watching porn. “
In the sequence, Crews continues his tale by saying that sometimes when he found himself without any task, he found it difficult not to give in to the addiction. “Pornography is like going crazy in a drugstore. You’re like a kid on the loose, picking up all sorts of stuff in there and it can be seriously damaged,” Terry said.
The star recalls that in childhood she had never seen adult content and that now, with the accessibility of having a computer or smartphone, people may be able to consume pornography more easily. “You have the computer there and the things that people have access to … Wow, now we have access to the most violent, degrading, heinous and criminal,” she pointed out.
Crews goes on to say that medical treatment and addiction treatment had some tasks he needed to do in his spare time. The star made lists of what she could do in those moments. “It was at that level of simplicity. I would say, ‘Okay, what should I do now?’. And then I’d read a book. And I’d be there in the first paragraph, suffering. I remember when I said,” I’ll read at least the first paragraph of a book. “And then the second paragraph was interesting. And I went to the third paragraph, and I was like,” Wow “. By the tenth page, I had forgotten everything I would normally do.”
