“She has a beautiful job, she is still alive and needs to be celebrated. This EP is also a gift for the religious community that welcomed me so much”, underlines the artist, in an interview with Land.

The EP contains five tracks of well-known songs in the voice of the samba singer, who turned 50 years of career last June. The project communicates with the fictitious program ‘Hot weather show‘, posted on YouTube to ensure music videos for every track of your new project.

The idea is to use creativity to involve fans, in a program set in the 70s. In addition to singing all the songs of ‘Meu Santo É Forte’, MC Tha also criticizes the lack of space for black artists in the mainstream media.

Religious intolerance

THE PMy saint is strong‘is released with the aim of strengthening MC Tha’s place in music, but also to draw attention to religious intolerance. According to data from the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights, 586 complaints of religious intolerance were received in 2021, 141% more than the previous year, when 243 complaints were registered.

“We live in a very difficult Brazil, especially because of the current government. In recent years the cases of religious intolerance have increased. I believe that by bringing these Afro-Brazilian references we have managed to raise awareness, to show that Brazilian music is made of racialized elements “, defends the MC.

MC Tha will take advantage of the remaining months of 2022 to focus on dissemination ‘My saint is strong‘, but reveals that he is already working on his second studio album. Despite not having a release date, the singer guarantees that it will be notable.
