Research reveals that 61% of Brazilian homes already have a Smart TV

A Nielsen survey, in collaboration with MetaX, presented surprising figures for the consumer market, pointing out that 61% of Brazilian homes already have a Smart TV.

The study also revealed that 51% of respondents prefer to follow content from streaming platforms on TV. Of the total, 86% consume these services on TV at least once a week.

The TV brands most cited by users were Samsung and LG, with 39% and 30% respectively.

The survey also showed that the majority of users (56%) are between the ages of 25 and 44 and prefer to watch in the company of other people (63%). Additionally, 70% of respondents use their mobile phones while streaming series.

According to Eletros (National Association of Manufacturers of Electrical and Electronic Products), TV sales are expected to grow more in the second half of the 50- to 65-inch models for the World Cup. Larger and with more features, these sizes have become the target of the most diverse consumers, from cinephiles to football fans.
