Disney has released a new national poster and trailer for “Abracadabra 2”, the sequel to the popular 1990s witches’ children’s film.

Released in 1993, the first feature film told the story of Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mary (Kathy Najimy), three 17th-century witches who arrived in the present after their spirits were summoned on Halloween. However, they must face three children and a talking cat, willing to derail their plans to ensure their immortality.

In the sequel, the witches returned to Salem to the present day after being summoned by three girls, played by Whitney Peak (“Gossip Girl”), Lilia Buckingham (“Crown Lake”) and Belissa Escobedo (“American Horror Stories”). But the plan remains the same: to defeat three children and a talkative magic salesman (Sam Richardson of Veep) to ensure his immortality.

Director Anne Fletcher (“The Proposal”) is directing, and the cast also includes Hannah Waddingham (“Ted Lasso”) and Tony Hale (“Veep”), as well as Doug Jones (“Star Trek: Discovery”), who plays Billy Butcherson in the original version and reprises the role in the new film, as shown in the final preview fragment.

The premiere is scheduled for September 30 on the Disney + platform.
