Demi Lovato announces retirement from the stage: “I can’t take it anymore”

Actress and singer Demi Lovato has announced that her current tour, in support of her new album, will be the last of her career. The announcement was made in a series of posts published on Tuesday (9/13) on Instagram Stories.

“I’m so sick that I can’t get out of bed. I can’t take it anymore. This upcoming tour will be my last. I love you and thank you,” she said in one of the posts, which were later deleted.

It was unclear whether “this upcoming tour” was a reference to a future tour or to the tour that is already underway. Some portals and media, such as Billboard, have realized that the current shows, from the “Holy Fvck” album, are the latest.

Shortly after, the singer posted more stories, talking about the show she was going to do that night in Santiago, Chile. “I’ll push for you. I’ll need help singing, so sing it out loud for me!”

“I barely have a voice, I will be pointing the microphone a lot at the audience tonight,” he said in another Stories.

Lovato’s supposed last tour began a month ago with a show in Des Moines, in the US state of Iowa, and then continued on to South America, including Rock in Rio.

Unveiled in the children’s series “Barney and Friends,” the singer and actress soon featured on her series, “Sunny Among Stars”, and the telefilm “Camp Rock” (2008), but has lately focused her career on music.

This career was rocked by an overdose that nearly killed her in 2018. But Demi pointed out that she has struggled with problems like eating disorders and substance abuse since her 2013 memoir, “Demi Lovato: 365 days of the year “. In addition, she also admitted suffering from bipolar disorder in the documentary “Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated”, a year before her most serious drug problem.
