Pablo Lyle, formerly of Dulce Maria de Rebeldes, punched an elderly man during a traffic fight in Miami in 2019, resulting in the death of the victim

the Mexican heartthrob Pablo Lyle, star of soap operas and even a Netflix series, was sentenced to prison after killing a 63-year-old man during a traffic fight in Miami. The jury’s decision is on Tuesday 4 and, according to the local press, the actor faces 9 to 15 years in prison.
The crime took place in 2019, when Lyle and his family were on their way to Miami International Airport. After his car was closed by Cuban Juan Ricardo Hernández, Lyle punched the old man, who hit his head and fell to the ground.
The victim was rescued in a Miami hospital, but could not resist the injury and died. The actor fled after the attack, claiming to the press that he “feared for the safety of his son Mauro”, who was 6 years old at the time.
Lyle was still arrested, but received probation after posting a $ 5,000 bail, equivalent to R $ 25,900 at the current rate. Although he was indicted, he received permission to travel to Mexico for professional engagements.
The actor participated in several Mexican telenovelas of the broadcaster television, like Postal Code, and his most recent work was the Yankee series, produced by streaming giant Netflix. After the crime, Lyle was not cast for other productions. He is also known for maintaining a relationship with Rebeldes soap opera star Dulce Maria.
Judgement
Lyle’s trial was delayed several times, due to the pandemic and the recent passage of Hurricane Ian, however the actor was found guilty on Tuesday.
The plaintiff’s defense claimed he was defending himself from a violent assailant, but the argument wasn’t enough to convince the court. According to the lawsuit, the surveillance cameras captured the moment of the attack.
After 5 hours of deliberation, the jury in Lyle’s case came to the conclusion that the defendant was responsible for the elder’s death. The penalty can be up to 15 years in prison.
After the trial, Lyle left the court in handcuffs. According to the American Justice, a hearing will be held at the end of October to define the sentence of the actor, who remained in prison.
