Immortality Suits Her: Why After ‘Twilight’ Kristen Stewart Became a Star and Ashley Greene Became an Outcast

We don’t know about you, but we liked Alice Cullen the most in the twilight saga. Sweet and strong, she always came to the rescue and was the most hassle-free character. Also, she didn’t act dramatically like Bella, and not eccentric like Edward, but calmly – even humanly. But despite the well-acted role of a vampire, Ashley’s career fell apart – what happened?

Immortality Suits Her: Why After ‘Twilight’ Kristen Stewart Became a Star and Ashley Greene Became an Outcast

“Twilight” may be hated and even ridiculed (we agree, there’s more than enough awkwardness in this film), but we can only admit that this series of films has become cult for an entire generation. Critics felt that the story of a mortal in love with a vampire shouldn’t even have paid off at the book stage. But the millions of fans around the world who lined up at the cinema and bought posters of Edward and Jacob said otherwise.

Researchers even link the wedding boom in 2000s America to the fact that Bella and Edward got married on screen. The actors themselves are not happy with the experience in Twilight, Robert Pattinson even says he is ashamed of his vampire image. And here is the paradox: after filming, she and Kristen Stewart became superstars, and Ashley Greene, who enjoyed the role and dreamed of playing Alice, disappeared from the radar.

After the release of the last picture from the Twilight saga, the actress almost did not receive worthy roles. Immediately after, she plays in the horror film “The Phenomenon”, then tries her luck in the television series. To make matters worse, Greene was nominated for Worst Supporting Actress for her role as Alice, which is rarely good for a career. Ashley had every chance of being stuck in a lifelong role, which at one point was terribly scared of Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry Potter.

But Dani did his best to prove he could play serious dramatic characters, knocked on the thresholds of film studios and went to auditions – he eventually appeared in tapes that made fans miss him. like a magician, but like a really professional actor.

From this point of view, the horror film was not the best decision: Green failed to reveal her potential at the right time and show critics and viewers that she was capable of more than a vampire in a teen movie and a horror heroine.

The scandal that took place on the Twilight site has not been forgotten either. Before filming the last part – “Breaking Dawn” – Ashley and some of her colleagues demanded a raise from the producers. They were already famous and therefore thought they deserved big bucks. The actress, according to rumors, asked for 4 million dollars – in response to this, the director explicitly hinted that he would replace her, and the fact that they were filming the last part would not embarrass her.

As a result, Alice received 2 million dollars and unpleasant fame, which quickly spread in Hollywood. Someone began to say that Green suffered from star sickness and needed a special attitude to himself, someone, on the contrary, complained that the actress was afraid of failure and did not want to get involved in complex plots. Like it or not, the fact remains: after the saga, the charming vampire Alice found herself without millions of contracts and watched only her “Twilight” colleagues bathe in glory.
