After taking on the sale of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer’s glasses, the same sinister object shop has put an even more morbid cannibal accessory on the collector’s market. Taylor James, owner of the Cult Collectibles store in Vancouver, Canada, announced an alleged funeral urn of the psychopath for $ 250,000 (about R $ 1 million at the current price).
“The urn with the ashes of the ‘Milwaukee Monster’ is the rarest item in the history of this store,” James said in an interview with the Jam Press website, referring to the serial killer by one of his nicknames, in reference to the city in the United States where he committed his crimes.
Despite the publicity, local websites point out that there is no guarantee as to the authenticity of the urn sold in Canada. Dahmer was cremated in 1995 and his ashes were shared between his father and mother. Initially the serial killer’s brain was preserved, as his mother, Joyce Flint, wanted to hand it over for scientific research, but the organ was destroyed by order of a judge, in the same year, at the request of the criminal’s father. Lionel Dahmer.
James claims he got his father’s urn after being searched for by a former employee of Lionel Dahmer’s house, who is 86 and hasn’t appeared in public since 2020. And the macabre relics of the serial killer don’t end there: there are even family photos, a Bible, letters, furniture from his home, and even the silverware used by Dahmer to … well, you know.
The killer and cannibal, who killed 17 people, was sentenced to life in prison in 1992 but was killed by another inmate in November 1994.
The articles of the criminal have been appreciated by the success of the series “Dahmer: An American Cannibal”, which in less than two weeks has become the ninth most viewed English series on Netflix.
