Hackers allegedly invaded Record TV’s built-in file system this Saturday morning (8/10). But Record has not yet released an official statement.
The attack hit the “Fala Brasil” program, which was on air when the system was hacked, around 9 am. The airing was abruptly stopped, with the channel resorting to a rerun of an episode of “Everybody Hates Chris”, normally broadcast on Sunday mornings, as a “roller shutter”.
The broadcaster’s live programming has been suspended in São Paulo, Minas Gerais and the Federal District.
The station’s entire collection of reportage, memory and frames would have been “hijacked” by an unknown group, which is preventing the use of video in journalistic productions and entertainment programs with pre-recorded frames.
Even in Sao Paulo there was no editorial office internet and the professionals who were working on duty this Saturday morning “so as not to generate despair” would also be fired.
Everything indicates that it is a ransomware attack, in which hackers disappear with the content or its access in exchange for paying a ransom.
In June last year, JBS also suffered an invasion of its system and had to pay nearly R $ 60 million to get it back.
Among the “hostages” are those that would be broadcast today on “Cidade Alerta”. The teams run to cover the “holes” of the schedule.
Even the broadcast of the broadcaster’s live programming does not work via the Playplus application.
However, the streaming of “The Farm” was not affected.
The R7 site is also unharmed so far.
