
Iranian actress and model Elnaaz Norouzi, 30, decided to go topless to protest the violent actions of her home country’s “moral police”, who arrested and apparently killed young Mahsa Amini for wearing a “improper dress”, meaning leaving strands of hair show under her hijab. The death of the 22-year-old woman triggered a strong wave of women’s protests in the country.
“The so-called ‘moral police’ kills people every day! Life has become hell for the Iranian people! I am furious, I want things to change and we need everyone’s support. We need to talk!” social media on the situation in the country. “None of us want this dictatorship anymore … Everything has a limit,” she said.
Born in Tehran, the capital of Iran, in 1992, Elnaaz Norouzi has been out of the country for many years. She grew up in Germany and moved to India at 19. She began her modeling career at the age of 14, after showing at fashion weeks in Berlin and London, and working with the Hugo Boss Dior and Lacoste brands.
She became world famous for starring in “Sacred Games”, the first Netflix Original Series in India, which was nominated for the 2019 International Emmy Award for Best Drama.
