Little Big Cinema -Cineteca Milano Arlecchino 8-16 November, Filmmaker -Cineteca Milano Arlecchino 15-23 November, Noir at the festival – Cineteca Milano Arlecchino 1 – 6 December. Three feasts. Three stories. Three independent cinematographic souls but only one “house” welcomes them to a common project. The common house is the Arlecchino cinema Which Cineteca Milano has been conducting since 2022 and which he immediately envisioned as an ideal venue and point of reference for the Milanese festivals that would match his artistic and cultural sensitivity. Today this goal has been achieved thanks to the project “one, two, three … celebration!” seeing that Piccolo Grande Cinema by Cineteca Milano, the event aimed at new generations; Filmmaker, the festival that enhances experimentation and new languages and noir in the festival, the event dedicated to cinema and literature.
From 8 November to 6 December 2025, in fact, Cineteca Milano Arlecchino Cinema will be the common home and the beating heart In three of the most important festivals in terms of history, tradition and roots in the Lombardy Capital: Piccolo Grande Cinema (8-16 November), Filmmaker (15-23 November) and Noir in Festival (1-6 December). Behind the strategic choice of the cultural policy, first of all there is a desire on the part of the three entities to unite, collaborate, give life to common initiatives by developing synergies to overcome the destruction of events that characterize the Milanese Festival scene and to underline the social and cultural value of the way of enjoying the cinema. Festivals, in fact, are spaces where the cinema can be experienced as a creative, exchange and comparative place for the survival of the “biodiversity of the cinematographic offering”.
Second Piccolo Grande Cinema, Filmmaker and Noir at the Festival Together to send the message to the public that has enriched to discover the strength and variety of independent cinema from around the world and that there is room for an international cinematography that is outside the box, free and alien to commercial logic alone. A cinematography that offers new authors and classics and is capable of exciting and sparking discussions, thanks to previews, meetings and debates. In this common project, each celebration carries its own identity and community. To seal the collaboration, the week between 24 and 30 November will be scheduled together.
Little Big Cinemawhich this year celebrates its 18th edition, is the festival co-programmed, attended and animated by young audiences, with a focus on first and second works and established authors. Its claim, “the first festival is not forgotten”, is aimed at the boys and girls who plan it, choose the films and who make up the juries, without forgetting all the spectators who take their steps in the world of festivals for the first time. Young people are the soul of Piccolo Grande Cinema, they are the real “makers” of the festival.
Filmmaker Festival It is a historic event for the City of Milan, born in 1980. The Filmmaker identity is distinguished: a laboratory festival open to collaborations, interested in discovering and supporting new authors, new forms of cinema, new public relations. Joint initiatives – Spectators of the three festivals are offered special conditions. It is possible to buy the “subscription” at the general price of 45 euros that will allow access to holders of all the screenings of the three events.
