PT presidential candidate condemns the concentration of power in some media groups and comments on the player’s millionaire tax debt
Interviewed by Igor Coelho at the Flow Podcast, Lula has once again beaten one of his biggest enemies in the press, the anchor and editor-in-chief of the “Jornal Nacional”.
“William Bonner was very respectable,” he said, recalling the phrase “you owe nothing to justice”, uttered by the reporter on Saturday on the news in August.
The PT presidential candidate was asked about his intention to regulate the media. “You’re not talking about censorship, are you?”, Igor provoked.
“I’m not talking about censorship. I am an enemy of censorship. I got into the anti-censorship policy. What I want to do is what I’m saying, there are things that society must participate in to change ”.
Lula took the opportunity to criticize Jovem Pan News, without naming the station editorially aligned with its opponent Jair Bolsonaro.
“There is a television channel, you know, that only talks nonsense, only speaks rudely, only offends. We have to have a regulation. The latest regulation on electronic media is 62! ”
For the former president, the regulation would facilitate the right of response to anyone who has felt offended by the media. Today the appeal is guaranteed only by the court order.
The PT also complained about the concentration of power in the mainstream media. “We have nine people who own all the media in Brazil.”
One of the points of the regulation he defended would prohibit cross ownership. A company cannot own vehicles on different platforms, as in the case of Grupo Globo, which operates on television, radio, print media (newspapers and magazines) and on the Internet (news portals, streaming services).
Igor wanted to know if Lula was “pissed” with Neymar for the player’s support for Bolsonaro’s re-election. “No! Neymar has the right to choose what he wants to be president,” he replied. Then he took the opportunity to make fun of the Paris Saint-Germain striker.
“I think he is afraid that if I win the election, I will find out what Bolsonaro has forgiven for his income tax debt. I think he’s the one who’s afraid of me, “he said, laughing. Flow’s host found it funny.
“A supporter of Bolsonaro, Neymar turned to the president to complain about a million dollar debt,” reported an article in ‘Estadão’ on 29 September.
«In 2019, the father of the attacker was received by Bolsonaro to ‘clarify’ the process. In court there is still a fine of R $ 8 million “, reads the text of the journalist Lorenna Rodrigues.
