Presenter Xuxa Meneghel posted a video on Instagram commenting on the trigger she suffered for Jair Bolsonaro’s comments on the day he “painted a mood” when he saw beautiful Venezuelan girls aged 13 and 14 for Street. In her statement, she referred to experiences of sexual abuse suffered in childhood.
Saying “very moved” by Bolsonaro’s comment, who later tried to correct the sentence, but not the context of the alleged prostitution – repeated in other videos -, Xuxa began by recalling the controversy of the film “Amor, Estranho Amor”, which usually used to accuse her of pedophilia.
“First I would like to tell you that who is speaking here is not that girl who was 18 and played the role of a girl of 15, who was sold to a brothel to be given to a politician. This film was based on some stories and it took place in the year 1939, 1940. And, still today, we feel and see situations like these, “explained Xuxa.
“I tell you the truth: around my 3, 4 years I suffered the first mistreatment and, consequently, many others have happened,” he said.
“Finally, it was when I was 13, with an old man who cornered me against a wall. I was just in a T-shirt and bikini bottoms. He ran his hand all over my body and I didn’t say anything, and I didn’t do anything, but when he tried to kiss me, I pushed him and I left crying. “
He then cited Bolsonaro’s controversial speech to speak out against candidate placements. “He used the expression that they were ‘making a living’, that they were ‘running a program’, that is, prostituting. I wanted to make it clear that no child of 13 or 14 is prostituting. This is sex exploitation of children and adolescents,” he said. affirmed.
“I didn’t scream then, but today I want to scream,” he added in protest.
Sasha Meneghel, daughter of Xuxa, commented on the page: “I love you mom. I am always with you, you are an example of strength”.
“Our Xuxa is gigantic. A strong and necessary testimony”, added Angélica.
