Erasmus Carlos remains hospitalized, but warns: ‘I am very much alive’

In the morning of this Monday, 31, the singer and songwriter Erasmus Carlos, 81, admitted to the Barra D’Or hospital in Rio de Janeiro, posted a photo of himself in the hospital window on his Instagram page. In the post he writes: “I am very much alive and, hopefully, I will leave the hospital until Wednesday … This year I will not die … paraphrasing Belchior”.

In the next few days, he is expected to be discharged from the hospital. Erasmus had to be hospitalized because he suffered from an epidemic syndrome, which is characterized by an increase in the volume of extravascular fluid, that is, outside the blood vessels. As a result, edema occurs in the body due to fluid retention. The causes can be varied: cardiac, renal, hepatic, hormonal, vascular.
