Singer Takeoff has died at the age of 28, after an exchange of gunshots in a Texas bar in the early hours of Tuesday 1
Rapper Kirshnik Khari Ball, known as Takeoff, was shot dead in the early hours of Tuesday 1.
According to the TMZ website, the member of the “Migos” group, who was 28, was in a bar in Houston, Texas in the United States. He then he was shot in the head and died instantly. By the way, he played darts with fellow rapper Quavo.
Also according to the website, police said the shots hit two other people, who are in hospital. However, there is so far no information on their health status.
Variety magazine even revealed that around 50 people were at the bar when filming began. The publication also claimed local police confirmed the rapper’s death.
Takeoff was one of the members of the Migos group, formed by him, Quavo and Offset, respectively uncle and cousin of the rapper. They made the megahit “Bad and Boujee” the greatest symbol of the trap invasion, today the most played rap sub-style in pop.
Migos, by the way, has already won two “Grammy” awards: for the best rap album and for the best rap performance, both in 2018.
Rape charge against Takeoff
In August 2020, Takeoff became the target of a rape charge. According to Variety magazine, at the time a woman filed a lawsuit against the rapper claiming she was attacked by him at a party in June of that year.
The alleged victim’s lawyer even stated that he would not reveal his identity for “fear of retaliation”.
According to the lawsuit, the woman sought medical attention in a hospital after the attack. In fact, the team “looked at the physical evidence of the rape” and informed the LAPD, which would investigate the case.
