The actress was diagnosed with the condition in 2019 and explained that the medications she must use to control the condition can reduce her chances of having a healthy pregnancy.
In an interview with the North American edition of the magazine Rolling stonesshe said she once went to visit a friend who was trying to get pregnant and ended up crying in her car after the visit.
“This is a very big and present thing in my life,” said the singer, before clarifying that she believes that “it doesn’t matter how I’m destined to have them. [os filhos]I will go”.
Selena also revealed that one of the things that led to her bipolar diagnosis was a bout of psychosis she suffered in 2018. According to the actress, the episode started when she started hearing voices in her mind, which they were getting stronger.
She ended up being admitted to a treatment center, where she spent months with a kind of paranoia, having a hard time trusting anyone. For some time she became unrecognizable to her friends of hers, until she was able to “slowly get out of her psychotic state” of her.
The artist recalled how she needed to take a lot of drugs during that time and how she felt that “there was no longer a part of her that was there”, until she found a psychiatrist who realized what. it was happening and it helped her.
“I had to essentially detoxify myself from the medications I was taking. I had to learn to remember a few words. I would forget where I was when we were talking. It took me a lot of work to accept being bipolar and learn to deal with it, because it won’t go away.” Selena said.
