Bolsonaro shouldn’t have lifted the “Junk Globe” sign, Justus says

The presenter who collaborated in the re-election campaign disapproves of the excessive dependence on a few political leaders

In an interview with the videocast ‘Flow’, by Igor Coelho, Roberto Justus criticized the episode at Cascavel airport, on February 4, 2021, when Jair Bolsonaro protested against Ibope’s main television station, which he considered his greatest media enemy.

“The President of the Republic does not put up a sign that says ‘Globo trash’. This is not the attitude of a president,” Justus said.

“If you want someone to put up a sign like that, because they don’t like Rede Globo, put another guy to put up the sign. You don’t.”

The presenter and publicist believes the current president’s controversial behavior prevented him from defeating Lula. “There are some attitudes, in my opinion, that have made us lose (the election).”

Justus helped campaign for re-election and appointed a friend, also a publicist and administrator Walter Longo, to join the Bolsonaro committee.

The two worked together on the reality show “The Apprentice”. Longo trained the president for the televised debates.

The host accepts the survey results, but criticizes the process.

“I didn’t want the PT to come back. I accept that. Unlike a lot of people who stand there protesting, I will never protest,” he says.

“I think the elections are legitimate as they were. I don’t think the game is so fair. The TSE played a bit in favor of the other candidate, but that’s not what took away the 2 million votes difference.”

In Justus’s assessment, Bolsonaro had a significant share of the blame for his own defeat. “He himself is a lot of unnecessary friendly fire.”

Report optimism to the president-elect to see more central management. “Lula was clever in inviting Alckmin to be her deputy. She showed a less sinister path.”

Roberto Justus also said that the country loses when it centralizes so many expectations in a few politicians.

“The support we have is for Brazil, regardless of the President of the Republic. Brazil is bigger than these individuals. We can’t personalize them both that much (Lula and Bolsonaro). Too bad.”
