A woman named Kristina Hirsch is suing veteran actor Warren Beatty for forcing her to have sex in 1973 when she was a minor.
The lawsuit was filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday (7/11) and does not directly identify Beatty, describing the assailant as a “famous and well-known actor and producer” who was nominated for an Oscar in 1967 for his role of Clyde in “Bonnie and Clyde: A Blast of Bullets”.
The lawsuit was filed under a 2019 California law that opened a three-year window for people to file previous child sexual abuse complaints that would otherwise have been banned due to the statute of limitations.
Hirsch says Beatty began contacting her on a movie set when he was 35 and she was 14, according to the lawsuit. He gave her “undue attention” in addition to her phone number and he ordered her to call her when she was near a hotel where she was currently living.
“The actor was enthusiastic about the attention and the invitation of the accused”, reads the complaint. “The teenage actor followed the movie star’s instructions and called the defendant shortly after their first meeting.”
The lawsuit claims that Beatty took Hirsch with her around in the car, offered to help her with her homework, and talked to her about “losing her virginity.” Throughout 1973, Hirsch says Beatty forced her to have sex on several occasions. Their relationship continued until the end of the year.
“Due to the defendant’s stature, position of authority, the actor’s predatory preparation and manipulation, as well as the actor’s young age, the actor was initially thrilled that the defendant was interested in her and believed to be involved in a romantic relationship with a movie star “, reads the complaint.
The lawsuit claims that she suffered physical, psychological and emotional suffering as a result of the trauma associated with childhood sexual assault. The prosecution alleges that there was sexual violence, forced sex and sex with a minor.
