Roberto Guilherme, Sergeant Pincel, dies at 84 in Rio

Actor and comedian Roberto Guilherme, famous for playing Sergeant Pincel in the clumsy, died this Thursday, 10 years old, in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 84. The artist was hospitalized at the Clínica São Vicente, in Gávea. He is being treated for cancer. The information was confirmed by family members and by Lilian Aragão, wife of actor Renato Aragão.

Despite having an extensive track record as an actor, Roberto became known on TV as the irreverent Sergeant Brush, a role he played for over 30 years. He starred alongside “Soldado 49”, a character by Renato Aragão, in the clumsy, on TV Globo. In a humorous sketch, Roberto shaved his hair, taking on his bald head and mustache as his trademarks.

The identification with the character was so great that even in his home the family called him by the nickname of “Pizzica”, according to him in an interview.

The last work was in the comedy series Dr. Darci (2018), by Multishow, with Tom Cavalcante and Fabiana Karla. Roberto Guilherme played General Armando, Darci’s grandfather and father-in-law, played by Tom Cavalcante.
