From dishwasher to movie star: How the ‘House of the Dragon’ star survived for future glory

Dragon House is the most talked about series in 2022. We have no doubt that in the years to come it will win the hearts of millions of new fans. And this will allow actors who played the main roles to make a brilliant career.

Millie Alcock, 22, starred as young Reynira Targaryen in House of the Dragon. Previously, the Aussie starred in local TV shows with varying degrees of success. The girl had many roles, but mostly episodic – they did not allow her to lead a luxurious life and feel like a real celebrity. What to say: before the beginning of the shooting of the prequel of Game of Thrones, Millie earned money by washing the dishes in a restaurant!

In 2018, shortly before graduating from school, the girl had to drop out of school in order to devote herself entirely to her film career. Millie didn’t have time to revise for her exams, as her work on set required an urgent departure for several months.

“I knew it would give me more valuable experience than the paper that would be given to me after graduation. I didn’t doubt my decision for a second,” Alcock shared in an interview.

Then the girl had to make a living in the kitchen of a restaurant and live in the attic of her mother’s house – and in her free time attend many auditions and hope for a better future.

By the way, at the time of the casting for The House of the Dragon, Alcock was desperate to become a real actress – and even missed the in-person audition, simply recording a video business card for the producers. Who knew that it was in the moment of despair that all the risks of his life would come true so powerfully!
