South Korean singer Jung Kook, one of the members of the BTS group, will perform a new solo song at the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Qatar next Sunday (11/20). Entitled “Dreamers”, the song is part of the official soundtrack of the championship, promoted by FIFA.
The track will receive a clip on Tuesday (11/22), which Jung Kook recorded in Qatar last month.
In addition to him, artists Lil Baby, Maluma, J. Balvin, Diplo, Julian Marley and Calvin Harris are confirmed in the opening show and other attractions are speculated.
However, many declined an invitation to attend the event, including Shakira, Dua Lipa and Rod Stewart, in protest of the host country’s lack of engagement for human rights, particularly with women and the LGBTQIAP+ community.
The opening ceremony of the competition is scheduled for Sunday at 12:00 and will be broadcast on Brazilian TV by Globo.
