‘This Is Me… Now’: Jennifer Lopez announces first album in 8 years


The release is the continuation of ‘This Is Me… Then’, album released in 2002 with songs dedicated to Ben Affleck

Singer Jennifer Lopez announced a new album after an eight-year hiatus from record releases. This is me… Now promises to be a sequel to This is me… Somade available in 2002.

The announcement was made through a video posted on social media. On the record, Jennifer appeared as the 2002 album cover and transitioned to the current album. She also said, “This is me then. This is me now.”

This is me… So featured several songs dedicated to the actor well afflictedwith whom the singer was engaged until 2004. Almost 20 years later, the two got back together and got married in July.

This is me… Now there will also be songs dedicated to her husband. The main one is Dear Ben Pt. IIcontinuation of Dear Benfrom the first disc.

In an excerpt from an interview given to Apple Music And published by the artist herselfJennifer talked about the inspiration for the new album.

“Twenty years ago, I fell in love with the love of my life. And I was working on a new album, This is me… Somade to ‘capture’ that moment,” he said.

She commented that she feels most inspired when she is in love and that, therefore, she had never made another album like it until then. “I was going through so much suffering and the way I found to survive was to work harder and hide that part of myself,” she said.

But now the story has a “happy ending”: “It’s time to make another album. And the reason I do it is to ‘capture’ that moment in time, because it’s even better than the first time.”

This is me… Now expected to reach digital platforms in 2023.
