You’ll Never Guess Which Actress Was Supposed to Play Vivienne in Pretty Woman Instead of Julia Roberts

Few people know that another actress was supposed to play a prostitute in Pretty Woman.

Pretty Woman became a cult film almost immediately after its release. The 1990 melodrama chronicles an encounter between finance magnate Edward Lewis and a prostitute named Vivienne.

For 21-year-old Julia Roberts, this work has become truly stellar and glorified around the world. All men dreamed of a beautiful actress!

Surprisingly, this film encountered many obstacles in the creative process: many simply did not want to get involved in a story about the love of a prostitute and an oligarch. So, for example, the actress for the main role was looking for a long time.

The role was originally intended for Sarah Jessica Parker. However, the Sex and the City star declined to play Vivienne. She didn’t want to be associated afterwards with a girl of little virtue.

Some would say Sarah Jessica was perfect for the role – curly, petite, mischievous. And others will consider that Parker cannot be called a beauty in the classic sense. But as we know from the series “Sex and the City”, this is its climax.

We also know that the role of Vivienne was offered to Michelle Pfeiffer, but she refused the role for the same reason. And now they’re both biting each other’s elbows!
