Rapper Kanye West was involved in yet another controversy on Thursday (12/1). This time the artist declared “love” for the Nazis and admiration for Adolf Hitler.
In a live interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and white supremacist Nick Fuentes, the rapper said he disagrees with how people refer to the story.
“I love Jews, but I also love Nazis,” Ye said. “I don’t like to see the word ‘bad’ next to the Nazis. I see good things in Hitler too. I love everyone.”
“I can not say that this person [Hitler], who invented the roads and microphones I use as a musician, didn’t do any good. Every human being has something precious that he brought to the table, especially Hitler.”
The singer’s statements surprised even the far-right conspiracy theorist Jones, who preferred to distance himself from Kanye’s positions. “The Nazis did really bad things,” he said. The friction continued after the singer claimed he “was a Nazi”.
Kanye West doubled down on the post and posted a drawing of a swastika mixed with the Star of David on Twitter. And his account was suspended earlier this Friday (2/12) for violating the rules. The rapper returned to the platform in October, ahead of Elon Musk’s billion-dollar takeover, after facing a previous suspension.
“I did my best. Despite this, he has again violated our rule against inciting violence. The account will be suspended,” wrote Musk, who even calling himself a free speech absolutist had to acknowledge that there are some limits to this.
Anticipating trouble, Kanye even shared a photo of Musk being attacked on a yacht by Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel.
“Just to clarify that your account was suspended for inciting violence, not an unflattering photo of me getting kicked by Ari. Frankly, I’ve found these photos a useful motivator for losing weight.”
Per Truth Social, Ye’s verified profile revealed that the suspension in the “competition” was only 12 hours, which left Twitter users furious at Musk for such a lenient suspension.
Recently, the singer also made anti-Semitic statements that even annoyed former President Donald Trump, who Kanye/Ye wanted as the VP on his ticket to run for the 2024 election.
The Coalition of Republican Jews also repudiated the artist’s current behavior. They released a statement regarding the rapper.
“Given his praise of Hitler, it is no exaggeration that Kanye West is a vile and loathsome fanatic who has attacked the Jewish community with Nazi-style threats and name-calling. Conservatives who have mistakenly supported Kanye West should clarify that he is a pariah. enough,” they said in a statement.
I have done my best. Despite this, he again violated our rule against inciting violence. The account will be suspended.
