Actress Jane Fonda celebrated the success of her cancer treatment Thursday (12/15) by revealing that she is in remission and no longer needs chemotherapy. “The best birthday present ever !!!”, celebrated the star, who turns 85 next Wednesday (12/21), sharing the news about her on her personal website.
“Last week my oncologist told me my cancer is in remission and I can stop the chemo. I feel so blessed and blessed. Thank you all who have been praying and sending good thoughts my way,” she wrote.
“I’m especially happy because even though my first four chemo treatments were quite easy for me, just a few days of being tired, the last session was hard and lasted 2 weeks, making it difficult to do anything,” she explained.
Jane Fonda had non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer that originates in cells of the lymphatic system. This type of cancer has a high cure rate: 80% of patients survive the disease.
He discovered the disease in March but only revealed it publicly in September last year. At the time, he said he was “privileged” to have health insurance, unlike many Americans.
As she improved, the actress took the opportunity to resume her activism and announce upcoming anti-global warming events she will attend.
