They couldn’t get married: These actors were supposed to star in ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ instead of Jolie and Pitt

The American thriller about a couple of hitmen “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” laid the foundations for one of the most beautiful Hollywood unions of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. At the same time, they may not meet on the set, because initially completely different people were announced in the cast of the picture.

Most of the popular films of recent years are associated with us today, first of all, not with directors, but with the actors who played the main roles in them. We therefore remember Harry Potter by Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, and Twilight by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

So, the image “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” is simply impossible to imagine without Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. It was on the set of this film that they became closer in the early 2000s, after which they began a hot romance, had 6 children and got married.

But all this (including the scandalous divorce, the echoes of which we hear to this day) could not have happened, because initially completely different actors would have to be filmed in a romantic action film. By the way, their names are well known to all of us.

For the role of Mrs. Smith, for example, Nicole Kidman was originally invited, but she turned down the role due to being busy with other projects. She was supposed to be paired with Brad Pitt, but he quit the picture as soon as he learned of Nicole’s departure. By the way, approval for the role of Angelina Jolie changed his decision: the actor immediately returned to the project, which in the end became fateful for him.

However, Pitt wasn’t the only one on trial for the role of Mr. Smith: Johnny Depp and Will Smith could also play the charming mercenary. But for the role of his wife, in addition to Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Cate Blanchett were considered.
