Joel McHale (Happiness is killing) claimed that film recordings of Community will start in June this year. The actor and comedian revealed in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live! (ABC), which most of the cast is already confirmed for the rebirth.
With his pet snake in his arms, McHale was asked by Jimmy Kimmel if he would reunite with the monkey he played on the series. “Thanks for reminding me. I don’t know if the monkey will be back in the movie,” he said. “The film will have a different tone, perhaps it will start with a snake devouring a cute little monkey. (…) Ken Jeong (If you drink, don’t get married) there will be,” he said with a laugh.
In September 2022, Sony Pictures announced that they will be adapting the series for cinemas.
