A report obtained by CNN, republished by New York Post, concluded that the movie star forgot to activate the emergency brake. “The Pistenbully snowthrower started to slide, forcing Renner to exit the vehicle without activating the emergency brake,” the document reads.

Renner would have tried to divert the vehicle to reach his nephew. “Although the Pistenbully had some mechanical problems, it is believed, based on our mechanical inspection, that the parking brake would have prevented the plow from moving forward. When Renner tried to stop or swerve the plow to avoid injuring his nephew, was dragged under the vehicle near the runway and run over,” the report said.

The actor was rescued by his family member and a neighbor, who were flown by helicopter to the hospital. After weeks in the hospital, Jeremy is recovering at home.
