Plus or ideal size: what size did Marilyn Monroe really wear?

But in fact, the confusion arose from the fact that the dimensional grids adopted in the 1950s are very different from modern grids. So, for example, the “zero” size of the modern model corresponds to size 10 of the old standard, that is, it turns out that Monroe wore clothes in size 42-44. Also, the parameters of Marilyn, registered in the Blue Book modeling agency, were preserved, with which the future star signed a contract at the age of 19. If translated into centimeters, then Monroe had almost ideal hourglass parameters – 90-60-90 with a height of 166 cm and a weight of about 53 kg. By the way, in the agency the administrator noted that the height of the young Monroe was 12 years old.

Of course, with age, the weight of the actress fluctuated slightly, but, for example, the pathologist’s report indicates the same weight – 53 kg.

Today, many scholars of Monroe’s life agree that the actress was more of a modern size 8-10, i.e. M.
