The Academy has ruled out some awards favorites
The Academy has revealed the full list of nominees for the Oscars 2023this Tuesday 24. Leading the nominations is the feature film “Everything in every place at the same time”, which competes for the prize in 11 different categories.
Incidentally, the award ceremony is scheduled for March 12th. However, several highly anticipated names in the nominations did not appear. So, we have decided to list the top five. To watch:
The Woman King
Actress Viola Davis’ new film, “The Woman King”, which hit theaters in September 2022, and has attracted a legion of fans. With a strong message, the film features a strong and warrior woman. However, contrary to what many expected, the film did not appear in any category at the 2023 Oscars.

In Jordan Peele’s feature film, we see the keepers of a California horse ranch encounter a mysterious force that affects human and animal behavior. Many expected to see the film in Best Score or Best Sound Effects, the two categories in which the feature was in the pre-list of nominees.

The slasher, which is a prequel to ‘X – The Mark of Death’ left many people certain that Mia Goth would receive a nomination. However, it is historically known that the Academy does not place horror films in the major categories of the ceremony. Thus, we were left without “Pearl” at the 2022 Oscars.
Till: The pursuit of justice
In “Till” we follow the story of Emmett Till and his mother’s quest for justice come together. In them, we follow Mamie Till Mobley’s relentless pursuit of justice for her 14-year-old son, Emmett Till, who, in 1955, was lynched while visiting her cousins in Mississippi. Many believed in Danielle Deadwyler’s nomination for best actress, which did not happen.
Decision to leave
The South Korean feature was a safe bet at the Oscars in the Best Foreign Language Film category. After all, in the other awards, he was a highlight, even winning Best Director at Cannes. However, this time he lost.
