If you thought Amazon might run out of money after investing so much in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, you would be wrong! The company has once again donated money for a lucrative rights deal to develop movies, games and TV series set in the tomb Raider universe, including a show that Phoebe Waller-Bridge is busy writing.
The Waller-Bridge series had been rumored the previous day, as part of its expanded deal with Amazon and Prime Video that sees it continue to develop shows including a new mystery title, an adaptation of the bestseller. Sign here and now the tomb Raider series, of which she would be a fan.
The goal, second the Hollywood reporter, is to create a connected universe of movies, shows, and a new game starring adventurer Lara Croft. Waller-Bridge, however, isn’t directly involved in the film (yet), nor will she appear on the show.
All of which seemingly puts to rest any further speculation that the planned sequel to the 2018 reboot starring Alicia Vikander has popped up on news radars, but never seemed to come to fruition.
