Finally, you can now watch the documentary film “All That Breathes”, directed by Shaunak Sen and which is nominated for an Oscar in the Best Documentary category. The feature debuted this Tuesday, February 7, at HBO Max. The production reached arthouse theaters throughout Brazil thanks to Submarine Deluxe and Sideshow.
Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, ‘All That Breathes’ follows two brothers who run a bird hospital dedicated to rescuing injured black parrots in New Delhi, one of the most populous cities in the world, India. As environmental toxicity and civil unrest escalate, the relationship between the family and the neglected parrots forms a poetic chronicle of the city’s ecological collapse and deepening social fault lines.
Incidentally, the feature film was selected as a Jury Prize Winner at the World Film Documentary Competition in 2022
Also, in May, the film became the first to win Best Documentary at both Sundance and Cannes. Since then, the documentary has won the main awards of the season. Won Best Documentary at the Gotham Awards; four IDA Awards, including Best Documentary; and two Film Eye Awards, including Best Documentary.

Finally, it’s worth noting that “Tudo Que Breathes” comes to HBO in association with Submarine Deluxe and Sideshow Release. Produced by Kiterabbit Films and Rise Films in association with HHMI Tangled Bank Studios. Directed by Shaunak Sen and produced by Shaunak Sen, Aman Mann, Teddy Leifer. David Guy Elisco and Sean B. Carroll are executive producers, Florrie Priest is co-producer, Sam Stanley and Guy Horlock are associate producers. The documentary was edited by Charlotte Munch and features cinematography by Benjamin Bernhard, Riju Das and Saumyananda Sahi.
