Canadian singer Céline Dion has arrived in Paris ahead of a 16-concert residency scheduled to run from September 12 to October 17, 2026.
The upcoming shows mark her official return to live performing after a break of more than three and a half years forced by stiff-person syndrome.
Dion landed in the French capital on Friday aboard a private flight from Las Vegas. Fans quickly located her Parisian accommodation to welcome her, while reporters gathered to ask about her upcoming stage return.
Preparing for the Stage
Speaking to journalists outside her residence, Dion said she felt ready for the challenge but admitted to being a little nervous because so much time had passed. She added that fans had supported her from the very first day, describing the journey as an ongoing story, calling Paris her second home, and expressing that it was a great honor to be back.
According to French newspaper Le Parisien, Dion will remain in France until the end of her 16-night engagement. To prepare for the performances, she is taking classes in pilates, dance, yoga, and singing to ensure her body, mind, and vocal cords are in top condition.
Stiff-person syndrome is a rare neurological disorder characterized by progressive muscle rigidity and spasms. The condition can severely impact physical movement and vocal performance, requiring extensive physical therapy and rest.
Production and Venue Details
Her arrival coincided with the start of stage construction at Paris La Défense Arena, which will serve as her musical home for more than a month.
The stage production is being designed by Willo Perron, a Canadian creative director based in Los Angeles. Perron has previously designed major concert stage setups for international stars including Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Drake.
Paris La Défense Arena is a major multi-purpose indoor stadium situated in the western suburb of Nanterre. Opened in 2017, it stands as one of the largest indoor arenas in Europe, capable of hosting massive concert productions and sporting events.
Fan Celebrations and Past Performances
To mark Dion's return, the Paris city council has scheduled a public karaoke event for September 11 in the Stalingrad neighborhood. Local fan clubs are also organizing a series of commemorative activities across the city.
The residency will be Dion's first extended series of concerts since pausing her career. Her previous live appearance was a tribute to legendary French singer Edith Piaf during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games in the summer of 2025.
Piaf, who died in 1963, remains one of France's most cherished cultural icons. Dion's performance of her repertoire demonstrated her deep connection to French musical culture and her standing as a global vocal icon.
