The Canadian singer is in the French capital as she prepares for concerts there, three years after cancelling her world tour because of a health crisis following her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that causes severe muscle stiffness and spasms.
Fans wait outside Le Royal Monceau
Fans have been gathering every day outside the Le Royal Monceau hotel, where Dion is staying, hoping to meet her, take photographs and get her autograph.
On Thursday, September 3, Dion left the hotel wanting to thank the crowd for the support and affection they had shown her. She gave them a short, impromptu performance, singing for the people waiting outside.
A hug for her security guard, then a bow
While singing, Dion stepped away to hug one of her security guards. At the end of the performance she bowed, and her fans broke into applause.
For the appearance, Dion wore an oversized grey sweatshirt with wide-leg trousers and had her hair pulled back into a bun.
An earlier appearance in a black gown
A few days earlier, Dion had appeared outside the same hotel wearing a black, straight-cut dress with a ruffled hem and a train, finishing the look with black pumps. She again sang for the crowd gathered for her, and clips of the moment spread widely online.
