The Cinema Fund has approved 200 million rubles in funding for three film projects set in or filmed within the Far East region as part of its latest national feature film selection.
In a broader competition targeting film organizations outside the leading domestic production studios, support was approved for 40 projects. That group includes feature films such as A Hero of Our Time, Alpine Ballad, Legend of the Ermine, Little Muck, Hotel At the Lost Climber's, Ruslan and Ludmila. Magical Journey, and Black Silk.
Far East film selections
The dedicated Far East selection awarded funding to three specific motion picture projects. AS Mechtalet received 81 million rubles for BAM, a fantasy adventure following a girl searching for her brother at the Baikal-Amur Mainline construction site.
Production company Vremya Kino secured 60 million rubles for Bechamel, a war drama focusing on Pacific Fleet cabin boys during the Great Patriotic War. Additionally, MME was granted 59 million rubles for Palma 3, a movie centered on a dog that falls in love with a stray dog named Count.
