Skincare brand clinéa has launched a new Anti-Dark Spots and Brightening product line designed to address hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone following summer sun exposure.
After weeks of summer sunshine, many people notice that dark spots and blemishes become more pronounced, and their overall skin tone appears less uniform.
Hyperpigmentation is a common beauty concern that occurs when patches of skin become darker than the surrounding area. This is typically caused by an excess production of melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color.
Ultraviolet radiation from the sun is a primary trigger for this discoloration. Furthermore, hormonal changes, post-inflammatory marks left by acne, and the natural aging process can all influence the skin's appearance, creating uneven pigmentation and reducing its natural radiance.
The new clinéa range offers a comprehensive approach for individuals looking to incorporate targeted care for dark spots and blemishes into their daily routines.
Glutathione and polyphenols
The central ingredient in the clinéa collection is glutathione. This tripeptide is found naturally in the human body and is widely recognized for its antioxidant properties.
In skincare formulations, antioxidants help neutralize free radicals. These are unstable molecules generated by environmental stressors, such as UV rays, that can damage skin cells and accelerate visible aging.
Clinéa combines glutathione with advanced active ingredients, including artificial intelligence (AI) polyphenols and the brand's signature 4B complex, to support a brighter and more even-toned complexion. The AI polyphenols used in the formulation are derived from upcycled organic barley sprouts. Upcycling in the beauty industry involves utilizing agricultural byproducts that would otherwise be discarded, turning them into valuable cosmetic ingredients.
The philosophy behind the line is that treating discoloration involves not just targeting existing dark spots, but also providing overall skin care to ensure the complexion looks balanced and healthy.
Four targeted products
The Anti-Dark Spots and Brightening line features four products designed for different steps of a daily skincare routine.
The Gluta-Spots Be Gone is a 24-hour cream formulated with a velvety mousse texture. It combines glutathione with three per cent AI polyphenols to treat the skin throughout the day and night.
For more concentrated care, the Glutathione Spots Eraser functions as a daily serum. Its formulation blends glutathione, three per cent AI polyphenols, and the PhytoGlow molecular complex. The serum is specifically targeted at skin exhibiting an uneven color tone.
Eye area and face masks
Skin discoloration is not limited to the cheeks and forehead; the delicate area around the eyes has its own specific needs. To address this, the new line includes Anti-Dark Spot Eye Patches.
These patches are made from biocellulose, a highly absorbent natural fiber that adheres closely to the skin. They contain a blend of glutathione, arbutin, and caffeine. Arbutin is a botanical extract frequently used to brighten the skin, while caffeine is known for its use in eye care. The patches provide a complementary treatment step, aiming to give the under-eye area a brighter and more rested appearance.
The collection is rounded out by the Anti-Dark Spot Face Mask. Like the eye patches, this face mask is constructed from biocellulose, allowing it to fit the contours of the face like a second skin. Formulated with glutathione and arbutin, the mask serves as an additional care step for those focusing on enhancing their skin's radiance and uniformity.
The post-summer period is a typical time for people to re-evaluate their beauty routines. While targeted skincare can be an ally in achieving a brighter complexion, the daily use of sunscreen remains essential, especially when managing discoloration is a primary concern.
The clinéa line aims to provide the skin with increased brightness, a more even tone, and a visible sense of renewal.
