Comedy Series ‘Mozgoprav’ Wraps Filming in Russia

Filming has wrapped on the Russian comedy series Mozgoprav, a story about a popular psychologist and podcast host who is forced to return to his home village of Glush, according to online cinema START and TV channel STS.

Artem Tkachenko plays the lead role of Valentin Molchanov, a cynical Moscow psychologist, in the series directed by Dmitry Vlaskin. When a Moscow woman named Liza, played by Evelina Mazurina, flees to the village of Glush under his influence, her father, a general played by Vladimir Maizinger, threatens Valentin with criminal charges unless he brings her back. The psychologist must travel to his hometown and use every technique he knows to complete the task, while also confronting his own personal traumas.

In Glush, Valentin encounters childhood friends and a potential love interest, a paramedic named Marina played by Anna Begunova, who is also pursued by a local so-called oligarch named Fyodor, played by Artur Beschastny.

Begunova said she felt all the characters help Valentin understand who he really is, and that their actions come from a sincere place rooted in simple, down-to-earth desires rather than anything pretentious.

Filming took place in Moscow and the Novgorod region. The premiere is set for 2026.
