Spanish singer-songwriter Conchita will release the first single from her upcoming album, "La vida adulta," on 25 September 2026. The record, which will hold 13 tracks in total, is set to arrive in full in February, with a new song planned every three weeks in the run-up to the release.
Ahead of that launch, Spanish radio station CADENA 100 looked back at eight songs from Conchita's catalogue that have featured on the station over the years, tracing a musical path that began in 2007. The station has said it favours songs made with care, on the principle that what is sung matters as much as how it is sung.
Where it all started
Conchita's recording career launched in 2007 with her debut single, "Puede ser," taken from her first album, "Nada mas." Built around guitar from the opening bars, the song captured her early identity as a singer-songwriter, with an upbeat sound and an optimistic chorus about deciding that today, finally, is her turn to feel good. Nearly two decades on, it remains a track she still returns to, carrying the nostalgia of her earliest steps in the industry.
Motherhood and the 'La orilla' era
A different side of Conchita emerged in "El viaje," part of her 2021 album "La orilla." Swapping guitar for piano, the song is an intimate portrait of motherhood. Conchita has said it grew out of a night of desperation when her son, Leo, would not fall asleep as a baby, and she began telling him everything he would find in the world; that moment became the basis for the lyrics. She has performed the song on CADENA 100 stages more than once, most memorably at the station's 30th anniversary concert at Madrid's Estadio Metropolitano, in front of 60,000 people.
"La orilla" also produced "Que merezca la pena," an optimistic single built around everyday scenes about making the most of life, and "Salvese quien pueda," a breezier pop song from 2021 about heartbreak and the pain of not stopping in time before saying something hurtful.
'La bola de nieve,' her latest album
Conchita's most recent studio album, "La bola de nieve," was released on 21 April 2023. Its lead single, "No soy yo, eres tu" (2022), marked a livelier departure for the singer, built around a message of self-esteem and a call to stop blaming ourselves and instead look at who is really in front of us. The song helped launch an extensive tour across Spain, which closed with a packed show at Sala Joy Eslava, in central Madrid, on 3 April 2025.
The same album includes "Por las veces," a song reflecting on past self-sabotage as a starting point for moving forward. It entered CADENA 100's rotation in a version released a year later featuring singer Gonzalo Hermida, with whom Conchita performed the duet on stage at CADENA 100 Por Ellas 2024. Also on "La bola de nieve" is "Cupido," which opens with lyrics about never having been afraid and always having had the strength to fight, carried by percussion and a rock-tinged guitar.
An anthem for charity
Of her entire repertoire, "Y a ti nadie te quiere" holds particular significance for CADENA 100. Released in 2023 alongside Alvaro Soler, it was written as the anthem for CADENA 100 Por Ellas, a concert held that year to raise funds for the Asociacion Espanola Contra el Cancer, the Spanish association against cancer. Conchita worked with cancer patients from the outset, taking their feedback to shape the lyrics as faithfully as possible. The song served as the soundtrack to the event for two years, and a year after its release was reworked with singers Julia Medina and Paula Mattheus.
Two collaborations
Beyond her own material, two collaborative tracks have also featured on CADENA 100. In 2024, Spanish band Modestia Aparte released a version of Conchita's "Cosas de la edad," which also featured singer Sofia Ellar.
More recently, Conchita teamed up with singer Huecco for "Bajo tu piel," a duet released in October 2025 that reworks a song Huecco originally released in 2021. The track is currently part of CADENA 100's rotation.
