Coronation Street actress Vicky Meyers has revealed she is secretly engaged, three months after her character married on the ITV soap.
Meyers, 50, who plays DS Lisa Connor-Swain, let the news slip while responding to a troll on X who accused her of keeping her boyfriend a secret. She replied that he was actually her fiance. The original troll's post has since been deleted.
The identity of her partner has not been disclosed.
Fans quickly rallied around the actress in the comments. One wrote that they wished her all the happiness in the world and hoped the news would stop needless speculation about her private life. Others joked that they were not ready for the world to know, while some expressed frustration that she had to deal with trolls at all.
Soap History
Meyers' on-screen character Lisa made history alongside Carla Connor, played by Alison King, when the pair tied the knot on Coronation Street in April in the soap's first lesbian wedding.
The episode was not without drama. Their original wedding venue was cancelled at the last minute, and their special day was overshadowed by a murder. Lisa enlisted Sally Metcalfe to round up their friends and arrange a surprise wedding reception at Underworld.
The show had previously seen two failed lesbian weddings. Sophie Webster was jilted at the altar in 2011, and Rana Habeeb died before saying her vows in 2019. Carla and Lisa first gave in to their feelings in 2024.

Earlier this year, Meyers marked her 50th birthday with an Instagram post that left fans stunned by her age. Many commented that she did not look a day like 50 and begged her to reveal her secret.
