Courteney Cox, 62, and her daughter Coco Arquette, 22, made a rare joint red carpet appearance over the weekend, sharing a hug for photographers at a Golden Globes event in Toronto.
The Friends actress and her daughter attended the Road to the Golden Globes Party at the Four Seasons Hotel on Saturday, held during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Mother and daughter coordinated in matching all-black outfits for the outing and embraced while posing for photos on the carpet.
The appearance came shortly after Cox and Coco celebrated the younger Arquette's 22nd birthday in June, around the same time as Cox's split from her partner, Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid.
For the event, Cox wore the same sleeveless, tea-length dress she had worn earlier in the festival to the premiere of Evil Genius, pairing it with knee-high leather boots and delicate gold jewelry. Coco wore a long-sleeved minidress with slingback pumps and carried a red leather shoulder bag for a pop of color.
Golden Globes party in Toronto
Cox rose to fame playing Monica Geller on the sitcom Friends, which ran from 1994 to 2004, and remains one of the most recognizable stars of her generation. Coco is her only child, whom she shares with actor David Arquette, and the pair are rarely photographed together at industry events.

Coco's 22nd birthday tribute
In June, Cox marked Coco's 22nd birthday with a tribute on Instagram, sharing two photos alongside a caption that read: "Happy Birthday Co. You are such a wise soul. Funniest person I know and my life teacher. I love you x."
One photo showed the pair smiling cheek-to-cheek in the present day, while the second was a childhood photo of Cox holding her daughter in the ocean.
David Arquette, 54, who shares Coco with Cox and is now married to Christina McLarty, also shared his own tribute on Instagram. In one post, he wrote: "I'm so proud to be your papa @cocoarquette_ Happy 22nd Birthday! I know this is going to be a magical world." Coco commented under a separate post featuring three photos of the two of them, "I love you so much!!"
Sending her daughter off to college
In October 2024, Cox reflected on sending Coco off to college while speaking at the Inc. 5000 45th Annual Conference & Gala. "It's weird because people get upset the first year your kid goes off to school and I was like, 'What's the big deal? She doesn't talk to me anyway, she's always in her room,'" Cox said.
The actress explained that the reality hit her once Coco returned home for summer break. "Then she comes home after her first year in college and she was all mature and talking more," she said. "And I mean, she's incredible. She's a really special, smart, funny kid. But then I was like, I don't want you to go back to college," she admitted. "The second year was harder for me."
Cox and David Arquette's relationship
Cox and Arquette married in 1999 and divorced in 2013, three years after they separated, and have remained on amicable terms. The two also starred together in the Scream horror franchise long after their marriage ended.
They reunited earlier this year at the red carpet premiere of Scream 7, which was released in theaters on February 27.
Cox's relationship with Johnny McDaid
Cox got engaged to Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid, 49, in 2014, but the couple later called off the wedding. They got back together in 2016, though Cox confirmed in 2019 that they were not actually engaged again.
"He's not my fiancé. We were engaged to be married but now we're just together," she said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "We broke off our engagement and he moved to England, then we got back together and it's actually better than it was before. Everything's better," she explained.
