Spanish singer Dani Martín and actress María Hervás have ended their relationship, according to journalist Javi de Hoyos, after months of keeping their romance largely out of public view.
De Hoyos said he first received information about the breakup at the end of June but chose not to publish it until he had checked it with people close to the couple. Having done so, he said he could confirm that "the relationship has ended."
Signs at Mad Cool festival
The first hints that something had changed between them appeared in early July. On July 9, Martín attended the first day of the Mad Cool festival alone, while Hervás showed up at the venue the following day. She also shared a photograph from her time at the festival that showed no sign of the musician, an absence that seemed minor at the time but now looks different in hindsight.
De Hoyos said he had not been able to determine whether there was any chance of reconciliation, and stopped short of saying whether the split was final, noting only that, for now, "the story has ended."
A relationship built on discretion
The news follows a relationship that was marked by discretion from the start. The couple avoided turning their romance into a public spectacle and were rarely seen together, an approach that stood out particularly for Martín, whose love life has drawn heavy attention since his years fronting the pop group El Canto del Loco.
Neither Martín nor Hervás has confirmed the breakup. Staying true to the discretion that defined their relationship, both appear to have chosen silence to deal with its ending as well. If there is no reconciliation, their story will have ended the same way it began, away from statements or public declarations.
Busy professional schedules
Martín, 49, is currently in a period of intense professional activity. The musician remains focused on new projects and a busy concert schedule that has put him back in the spotlight after periods in which he chose to step away from performing.
Hervás, for her part, is going through one of the strongest stretches of her career as an actress, working across theatre, film and television.
Their respective professional commitments could explain why the two have barely been seen together in recent weeks, though neither has spoken publicly about the reasons behind the apparent split.
