David and Victoria Beckham flew back from the Amalfi Coast to watch their son Cruz make his Reading Festival debut on Saturday.
The former footballer, 51, and Posh Spice, 52, had been touring Europe on a luxury £16 million yacht before returning for the gig. They watched intently from the side of The Canopy stage in the torrential rain as Cruz performed with his band The Breakers. David held Victoria's hand, while she wore sunglasses despite the weather.
Cruz took to the stage wearing a denim jacket, red T-shirt and low rise jeans.
His brother Romeo, who wore a full camouflage ensemble, sister Harper, who waited patiently for the set to begin, and girlfriend Jackie Apostel were also in the wings. Apostel posted a photo of herself on her Instagram Story earlier in the day wearing a bright yellow T-shirt reading: "Cruz Beckham sang to me."
A concertgoer said the family were "listening and supporting Cruz and Victoria has been embracing David affectionately while watching."
Wear & Tear
Before the set, Cruz shared a close up selfie on Instagram with the caption: "Reading, I cannot wait."
The Reading gig comes during a busy year for the 21-year-old, the youngest of the Beckham sons, who toured the UK and Europe with his band in early 2026 on The For Your Love Tour, before a North American summer leg. The sold out gigs followed the release of his first single, For Your Love. They also played the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago last month.
The band released a five-track EP, Wear & Tear, earlier this month, featuring the songs Better Times, WANNABE, Seeing Red, Loneliest Boy and Wear & Tear. Cruz said the record captures "a life lived," including the good, the bad and the learning curves along the way, showing that people with different experiences can share emotions.
"We’ve been high, and low, in love and in pain, jealous, upset, we’ve lived and learned," he said. "We’ve all got our wear and tear."
The Breakers play Leeds on Sunday as part of six shows to coincide with the EP's release. Last year, Cruz performed in front of his family for the first time, prompting Victoria to share a clip writing: "Wow!!! You look so happy Cruz and we couldn’t be prouder we love you @cruzbeckham xxxxxxxxxx." David admitted he had "tears of joy and pride."
Festival offspring
Cruz was one of several children of famous musicians to perform at the festival this weekend. Liam Gallagher and Nicole Appleton's 25-year-old son Gene played with his band Villanelle at Reading on Friday night, followed by a set at Leeds.
Moses Martin, the 20-year-old son of Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow, performed a 35 minute set with his indie pop band People I've Met on Friday, 27 years after his father sang there with Coldplay. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl's daughter Violet is scheduled to play on Sunday.
Elsewhere at the festival, Raye performed on the Grid stage in a black gown.
The bookings of the musical offspring follow accusations of elitism after organisers axed the BBC Introducing stage, which has hosted new talent since 2008 and helped launch artists like Ed Sheeran and Florence + the Machine. Around 70 per cent of British artists in this year's lineup came through the platform. Festival Republic bosses said last month the change would open stages to a "much wider pool of emerging talent."
